Research Notes on Non-Infectious Vaginitis
Non-infectious vaginitis usually refers to a vaginal irritation or inflammation without an infection being present. In many cases, it is caused by an allergic reaction to products containing chemicals which come into contact with the vagina, such as douches, feminine sprays or spermicides.1 It can also be caused by a reaction to perfumed soaps, detergents or fabric softeners.
