Research Notes on Newborn Subgaleal Hemorrhage
Subgaleal hemorrhage in newborns is condition where bleeding occurs in the space between the scalp and skull. This occurs due to a vacuum extractor or forceps being used to help pull the baby out during delivery. Vacuum extractors are more commonly used and the force of the suction causes subgaleal bleeding or hematoma.
