Neuroleptic malignant syndrome is a rare but potentially life-threatening reaction to the use of almost any of a group of antipsychotic drugs or major tranquilizers. These drugs are commonly prescribed for the treatment of schizophrenia and other neurological, mental, or emotional disorders.
