Research Notes on Nephrologist
Nephrologists are physicians that are specially trained in diseases related to the kidney. Kidney diseases, dialysis therapy, and kidney transplantation fall under a nephrologists’ specialty. They do not perform surgery on the kidney, but may have to perform a kidney biopsy.1 A nephrologist can perform general diagnostic work as well due to their initial training as an internist.
