Research Notes on Needle Biopsy
A needle biopsy -- also called needle aspiration biopsy (NAB), fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) or fine needle aspiration (FNA) -- is a safe, minor surgical procedure. A needle is used to draw cells out of a suspicious lump or lesion to be examined for cancer.
