Necrophilia can be defined as a sexual attraction to dead bodies.1 These types of thoughts or fantasies are often thought of as a mental illness.2 Necrophilia is also listed as a mental disease in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR).3
