The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) works to promote public awareness about sleep disorders. NSF supports education on the importance of sleep, and the treatment of sleep disorders.1 Founded in 1990, NSF is a nonprofit organization that relies on the support of individual contributors, grants, and donations from various corporations.2
Fast Facts:
- NSF sponsors the Drowsy Driving Prevention Week, which seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of driving while drowsy.1
- NSF's social networking site, Pillow Talk, allows people with sleep disorders to interact with others with similar disorders.1
- NSF also publishes a newsletter and magazine aimed at educating the general public about sleep health.2
