Research Notes on National Jewish Health

In July 2008, National Jewish Medical and Research Center changed its name to National Jewish Health. Originally founded in 1899 to treat impoverished tuberculosis patients, it has since expanded to specialize in all forms of respiratory, allergic and autoimmune illnesses and many other medical fields. The newest form of their name reflects their mission to provide comprehensive preventative and personalized care.1

Fast Facts:

  • The #1 respiratory hospital in the nation for the past eleven years.2
  • Original funding came from the Jewish community, however treatment has never been limited to specific religious denominations.1
  • Still provides a large amount of free or significantly reduced-cost care to needy patients.1
