Research Notes on Nancy Brinker
Nancy Goodman Brinker is best known as being the founder of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation started after her sister by the same name died of breast cancer. The foundation has raised nearly $1 billion dollars for breast cancer. In 2007 President George W. Bush nominated Brinker to be Chief of Protocol of the United States . On April 15th, 2008 Ambassador Brinker was the first American to greet Pope Benedict XVI. She is a breast cancer survivor herself after being diagnosed in 1984.
