Research Notes on Multiple Sclerosis and Oral Health

Individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS) are not more susceptible to dental problems than the general population. MS patients do have special needs related to dental care as they can face difficulties in maintaining oral health due to their symptoms. Fatigue, spasticity, weakness, tremor, facial pain, and numbness or tingling in the hands all present a challenge to brush and floss adequately.1
