Research Notes on Mood Swings and Pregnancy
Mood swings are very common among pregnant women, especially during the first and third trimester. Physical stress, fatigue, and hormonal changes affect the level of neurotransmitters in the brain that regulate mood. Expectant mothers may be happy and excited about the incoming baby, but may also be depressed and anxious of the major life change.
