Before using mitoxantrone, you should be aware of the warnings and precautions associated with taking the drug. You should let your health care provider know if you have liver disease, shingles, or any allergies prior to taking mitoxantrone.1 Prior to use, you should be evaluated for heart disease. The use of mitoxantrone can increase your risk of congestive heart failure.2
