Research Notes on Minocin Side Effects
As with most medications, there is a risk of side effects associated with the use of Minocin. The most commonly reported side effects include dizziness, nausea, appetite loss, and vomiting. Other common side effects associated with Minocin include diarrhea, sore throat, indigestion, and sore tongue.1

- Serious side effects that should be reported to your physician include hives, joint pain, abdominal pain, bloody stools, and swelling of the mouth, lips, face, or tongue.1
- Minocin (minocycline) is used to treat certain types of bacterial infections such as gallbladder infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and skin infections.2
- To avoid throat irritation, Minocin should be taken with a full glass of water while standing or sitting.3
