Research Notes on Migraines and Lights
Incorrect or excessive lighting may be responsible for many migraines that a person experiences. Just by changing the type of light bulb you normally use may make a significant difference in the frequency of your migraines. Even the glare of lights that are reflected in you computer monitor screen can be a migraine trigger.1
Fast Facts:
- The flickering from fluorescent lights have been frequently reported by migraine suffers to be a known trigger.2
- There is another form of light associated with migraines and this is known as an aura, one might see flashing lights up to 24 hours before a migraine begins.3
- Keeping a diary of your migraines may be beneficial to figuring out what may be triggering your headache.3
