Research Notes on Methylin
Methylin is a brand name for the drug methylphenidate. Methylin is used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).1 Although Methylin is a stimulant, it has a calming effect in children with ADHD.1 Possible side effects of using Methylin include insomnia, loss of appetite, and nausea.2 For more information, see the methylphenidate WisdomCard.
Fast Facts:
- If you have epilepsy, congestive heart failure, or high blood pressure, you may not be able to use Methylin.1
- Overdose symptoms of Methylin include hyperactivity, confusion, and fever.2
- The dose of Methylin you are prescribed depends on your age and other medical conditions you may have.1
