Research Notes on Methyldopa and Breastfeeding
Methyldopa has been shown to be excreted in the milk of breastfeeding mothers. However, there have been no reports of adverse effects to a nursing infant due to the minimal exposure to the medication.1 Methyldopa is sometimes recommended in the treatment of high blood pressure.
