Research Notes on Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine is a drug which is used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, obesity and narcolepsy.1 When ingested, it causes the brain to release norehinephrine, dopamine and serotonin causing a euphoric "high" which has led to the drug being abused and used for recreational purposes.1 Common side effects associated with methamphetamine use include dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, headache and dizziness.2
