Methadone is a narcotic medication that is used to relieve moderate to severe and chronic pain.1 It is also used to prevent withdrawal symptoms in those who have been addicted to opiate drugs.1 After taking methadone, slowed breathing, arrhythmia, fainting, severe dizziness or confusion should be reported immediately.1
