Research Notes on Mercury in Mascara
Minnesota is the first state in the nation to ban mercury as an additive to cosmetics, in particular mascara. Mercury has been shown to cause neurological damage to people even in limited amounts. Sen. John Marty, the Democrat who sponsored the ban said "Every source of mercury adds to it. We wanted to make sure it wasn't here."
