Research Notes on Mercaptopurine
Mercaptopurine is an immunosuppressive drug used to treat leukemia. It is sometimes prescribed for other uses such as: autoimmune diseases and inflammatory bowel disease. Common side effects are: headaches, weakness, and a loss of appetite. Possible symptoms may include: joint pain, fever, and fatigue.

- May be given to people having chemotherapy.
- Can be used to treat Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and psoriatic arthritis.
- It reduces the production of white blood cells by the bone marrow, making you more prone to infection.
