Research Notes on Medical Indicators for Benzodiazepines
Medical indicators for benzodiazepine use include anxiety, insomnia, agitation, seizures, muscle spasms, and alcohol withdrawal.1 Benzodiazepines belong to the class of medications called central nervous system (CNS) depressants. These are drugs which slow down the nervous system.2

- Valium, Xanax, and Ativan are few types of benzodiazepines.3
- There is a risk of dependence to this drug, so caution must be taken when using them.4
- The most common method of taking the drug is orally, in either tablet or capsule form.5
