Medicaid and Children's Hospice

GuideWisdom™

This WisdomCard managed by: Tara Salamone

Hospice care for children is a relatively new program aimed at providing terminally-ill children and their families with an enhanced quality of life. Children's Hospice International, with the help of other institutions such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, developed a program that will help children and their families from the time of diagnosis until bereavement, if the child was not cured. Medicaid now reimburses families of children for comprehensive hospice care needs, whether they were provided in the home, in the hospital or in a hospice or in other appropriate facilities.
