Currently there is no known cure for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but massage therapy has been effective in alleviating symptoms associated with RA.1 Massage increases circulation in the body and helps to decrease pain and inflammation. Swedish, energy, deep tissue, sports, and aromatherapy massages are the most common of the 100 different types of massage.2 RA patients should use care when choosing a professional masseuse to help treat RA symptoms.
