Research Notes on Mania
Mania is an acute medical condition. Characteristics of mania are extreme elevated mood, energy, and abnormal thought patterns.1 There are several possible causes for mania, but it is most often associated with bipolar disorder (also called manic depression).2 Mania can also be caused by drugs such as cocaine and amphetamines.3
