Research Notes on Lima Beans
Lima beans are a type of legume that is very high in fiber, which helps lower cholesterol. The high fiber in lima beans also helps keep blood sugar levels from rising too quickly after eating. They are also a good source of manganese which helps produce energy, and the folic acid in legumes like lima beans is a natural mood booster. Lima beans can replace red meat as a good source of protein.1
