Research Notes on Psoriasis and Light Therapy
Light therapy treatment for psoriasis is often effective in improving the appearance of inflamed, scaly skin. Studies show that using a combination of medications and light therapy adds to the effectiveness of light therapy. Light therapy is the use of artificial UV, UVB, and UVA light for treatment.1

- Light therapy slows the production of skin cells and reduces inflammation.2
- When undergoing light therapy the person steps into a light box that is about the size of a phone booth.3
- Psoriasis is a skin condition that affects the life cycle of skin cells.4
