Almost one out of every three adults has high blood pressure (hypertension). Licorice and other herbs have been used as treatments for a long time. Licorice may have serious side effects.1
Fast Facts:
- Pseudoaldosteronism can be caused by the glycyrrhizin component in licorice.1
- Symptoms of pseudoaldosteronism are headaches, fatigue, high blood pressure, and even heart attacks.1
- Licorice should not be used by pregnant women.1
