Research Notes on Levobunolol
Levobunolol is classified as a beta blocker, and is utilized to treat open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.1 The increased pressure in the eye caused by glaucoma can lead to a gradual loss of vision. This medication works by decreasing such pressure in the eye.2
Fast Facts:
- Generic for the brand Betagan.2
- Follow the prescribed dosage carefully.2
- Some side effects include redness, itching, stinging, burning or swelling of the eyelids.2
- More serious side effects include wheezing, difficulty breathing, irregular heartbeat, and sudden weight gain. If any of these symptoms are experienced, discontinue this medication and promptly call your physician.2
