Research Notes on Levamisole
Levamisole is utilized in combination with fluorouracil for the treatment of stage III colon cancer.1 The use of these drugs in conjunction with one another classifies it as adjuvant therapy, which appears to increase the defenses within the patient.1 This drug was first produced in 1966 and used to eliminate intestinal parasites in veterinary medicine.1 In 1990, it became approved for use in colon cancer.1
