Research Notes on Lawyer Gets Experimental Cancer Drug After Pleas from Clinton

One of America's most prominent trial lawyers, Frederick Martin Baron, has won access to a drug that's still considered experimental for cancer treatment. His doctors are hopeful that the drug will help treat his multiple myeloma. The drug, Tysabri, is made by Biogen and is only approved for use in patients with the autoimmune conditions multiple sclerosis and Crohn's disease. Biogen made the drug available to Baron after his son, Rocketboom founder Andrew Baron, and other prominent figures such as Senator Ted Kennedy, former President Bill Clinton, and Lance Armstrong, publicly pleaded with them. On Thursday, October 30, Fred Baron passed away from cancer complications at the age of 61.
