Research Notes on Lani O'Grady and Anxiety
Lani O'Grady, an actress who played Mary Bradford on Eight is Enough, suffered from the anxiety disorder called agoraphobia and panic attacks during her lifetime. During filming of her TV show she would take Valium (diazepam) to help her get through her scenes. This eventually led to a prescription drug abuse problem. Then the agoraphobia started and she was stuck inside her home. She checked herself into the Thalians Mental Health Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for detox from alcohol and prescription drugs. In 2001 she died in her home with toxic levels of Vicodin (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and Prozac (fluoxetine) found in her system.
