Lamivudine

Lamivudine is a prescription medication used to treat HIV, which is the virus that causes AIDS.1 It is also used for the treatment of hepatitis B under the brand name Epivir HBV.2 This drug belongs to a class of medications know as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs).2 Although Lamivudine helps to control both diseases, it is not a cure for either one.3 Additionally, it will not prevent you from spreading HIV to another person.3
