Research Notes on Lack of Sleep Raises Blood Pressure
A new study shows that middle-aged adults who don't get enough sleep are likely to develop high blood pressure. Missing an average of one hour of sleep over a five year span raised the risk of high blood pressure by as much as 37 percent. Typically, adults need anywhere from 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night.1

- During the study, only 1 percent of the volunteers averaged 8 or more hours of sleep a night.2
