Research Notes on Low-Density Lipoprotein
Low-density lipoprotein, commonly known as LDL, is a lipoprotein that carries cholesterol in the blood and around the body, for use by cells. It is considered the "bad cholesterol." High levels of LDL can be a sign of heart disease. A healthy LDL level is less than 100 mg/dL.
