Research Notes on Kleptomania
Kleptomania can be defined as a recurrent failure to resist the impulse to steal things even if the items are not needed for personal use or for their monetary value. Considered a rare condition, this occurs in fewer than 5% of identified shoplifters and it is more common in females than in males.
