Research Notes on Kansas Health Policy
Kansas is quite fortunate to be in the top 5 of all 50 states in regards to the uninsured rate of its citizens (10 percent). Even so, Kansas recognizes that there is room for improvement. In 2007, Kansas Legislature passed SB 11 legislation. One of the key elements of SB 11 is a premium assistance program which expands access to private health care coverage to 24,000 adults through a subsidiary program. Kansas' health reform plan will focus on providing good coverage for both insured and uninsured alike.
