Research Notes on Juvenile Diabetes and Sleeping Problems
Sleeping problems or sleep disorders are experienced by people with juvenile diabetes because at night there is a decrease in their blood sugar levels. They wake up because they feel unusually thirsty or that they have to frequently urinate. Other symptoms of juvenile diabetes, like fatigue and drowsiness, can also be attributed to the sleep quality of diabetic patients. This is most alarming for children because they are not usually vocal about what they are feeling, most especially if it means a trip to the hospital or clinic.
