Research Notes on Joint Infection
A joint infection (also called septic arthritis) is a condition in which bacteria or fungi invade a joint in the body.1 Older adults and young children appear to be most likely to develop joint infection.1 Treatment options include antibiotic medications and sometimes infection drainage is necessary.1
