Research Notes on Itchy Hands
There are several reasons why you might have itchy hands.1 Itchy hands may be the result of of dry skin during the colder months such as in winter. Itchy hands could be due to conditions such as hand dermatitis or even psoriasis.2
Fast Facts:
- Hand dermatitis (eczema) is characterized by inflammation of the skin on the hands that causes itching, blisters, and dry skin.3
- Applying moisturizers through out the day can help prevent dry itchy hands.1
- If the cause is due to hand dermatitis other therapies such as oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics, phototherapy may be used.1
