Research Notes on Inverse Psoriasis Symptoms
Unlike most other types of psoriasis, inverse psoriasis (also called flexural psoriasis) generally does not have silvery scales on the skin. Instead, the areas affected by inverse psoriasis are usually smooth and shiny. The skin will have a deep red coloring and well defined borders as is typical in other types of psoriasis. Inverse psoriasis is found in the folds of the skin, such as armpits and buttocks.1
Fast Facts:
- Skin affected by inverse psoriasis is generally moist and is irritated by sweating.2
- Inverse psoriasis is commonly seen in obese patients.3
- The area under the breasts or around the genitals is a common place for inverse psoriasis to occur.4
