Intertrigo is an inflammation of the top layers of skin. It is caused by bacteria, fungus, yeast or moisture in the folds of the skin such as inner thighs, armpits, genitalia and under the breasts. Intertrigo can be prevented by keeping these areas dry and wearing loose clothing.
