Research Notes on Internist
An internist is a doctor who specializes in internal medicine, a medical field that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in adults. Internists can choose to specialize in a particular field, such as cancer, infections, and diseases affecting the heart, blood, kidneys, joints and digestive, respiratory, and vascular systems, though this does require additional medical study.1
