The Mission statement of the International Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation says: "The International Pemphigus & Pemphigoid Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization whose mission is to increase awareness of pemphigus/pemphigoid, both among the general public and the medical community; to provide emotional support to patients living with these diseases, their families and friends; and to advocate research into causes, diagnoses, treatments and cure."1 While the diseases attacks across all racial lines, it does seem to be more prevalent in eastern European Jewish community and people of Mediterranean descent.2
