Research Notes on Influenza Type A
Influenza type A is a viral respiratory infection that can be passed by sneezing or coughing.1 Of the three types of influenza, type A is the most deadly. Influenza type A has been responsible for worldwide epidemics of influenza.2 People most at risk for contracting influenza type A are those over the age of 50, young children, and women who are pregnant during the flu season.2
