Research Notes on Flu Symptoms
Many flu symptoms are similar to those of the common cold. The flu typically starts with a fever, headache and fatigue. It is also likely to experience other symptoms such as loss of appetite, dry cough, nasal congestion, chills and sweats.1

- Young children often experience diarrhea and vomiting.1
- Flu symptoms usually start suddenly.1
- A severe cough that brings up phlegm, a high fever or a sharp pain when you breathe deeply, are symptoms of possible complications of the flu.1
