Research Notes on Indinavir
Indinavir is a protease inhibitor medication which is used to slow the spread of HIV infection in the body. It does not prevent the spread of HIV from one person to another.1 Indinavir is available in tablet form and is typically administered three times a day.2
Fast Facts:
- Common side effects include nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, headaches insomnia and fatigue.3
- May be used to prevent HIV after contact has been made.4
- Sold under the brand name Crixivan.
