Research Notes on Inderal Uses
Inderal is a prescription medication approved for the treatment of many conditions. These conditions include high blood pressure, angina, atrial fibrillation, migraine prevention, tremors, and hypertrophic subaortic stenosis. It is also administered to patients who have experienced a heart attack, and used to control the symptoms of pheochromocytoma. In addition to these approved uses, Inderal is sometimes prescribed for the treatment of hyperthyroidism, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, heart failure, anxiety, and to prevent the stomach or esophagus from bleeding in cirrhosis patients. Not all of these uses for Inderal have been approved by the FDA.1

- Brand name for the generic propranolol.
- When prescribed for the treatment of hypertension, Inderal should be utilized along with proper diet and exercise.2
- As with all medications, keep out of reach of children.
