Research Notes on Imipramine and Pregnancy


The safety of taking imipramine (Tofranil) during pregnancy has not been clearly established through controlled studies. This medication should only be used during pregnancy if the benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risks to the unborn baby. Discuss any potential risks with your doctor if become or are planning to become pregnant. Imipramine is used in the treatment of depression and in some cases, to reduce bed wetting in children.
