Research Notes on Hydromorphone Overdose
Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) overdose symptoms can be serious. Symptoms include a bluish tinge to skin, cold and clammy skin, constricted pupils, coma, extreme sleepiness progressing to a state of unresponsiveness, labored or slowed breathing, limp, weak muscles, low blood pressure, and slow heart rate. Heart attack, shock, and stroke can also occur.1 If you think you taken too much hydromorphone, seek medical attention immediately, or call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

- Do not get hydromorphone on the skin. It can be absorbed, and you may get too large a dose. 2
