Research Notes on Hydromorphone Addiction
Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) addiction is characterized by continued use of the drug, even as it causes harm. Some symptoms of addiction are sweats, constipation, nausea, dry mouth, loss of concentration, dizziness, insomnia, rapid heartbeat and drowsiness. Hydromorphone can be habit forming, so it is important to follow the doctor's instructions when taking this drug. Do not take a larger dose, or take it more frequently, or take it for longer than the doctor has prescribed.1
